Trafalgar Maple Bock: Tapping the Ontario Spring
This flavoured strong beer from Trafalgar Ales and Meads in Oakville, Ontario pours a cola brown and ruby colour with very little head or lacing, but leaves a long-lasting, hair thin ring. Trafalgar Maple Bock smells of sweet chocolate malt, table syrup and has a subtly spicy hop note after warming.
Trafalgar Maple Bock does indeed taste like maple syrup, with a hearty wood smokiness and a deep , chocolaty malt backing. The mouthfeel is thin for a bock, but very smooth-drinking. The beer masks its strength well and has a dark fruit character in the finish.
