Nickel Brook Green Apple Pilsner: Flavoured Beer with a Bite

This unique brew from the Better Bitters Brewing Company in Burlington, Ontario is the perfect compliment to a light snack. Nickel Brook Green Apple Pilsner blends light beer with a surprisingly natural green apple flavour to create a crisp and refreshing treat. It has a slightly cloudy appearance, golden wheat colour and creates a very small, short-lived head when poured.

Nickel Brook Green Apple Pilsner
How Do You Like Them Apples?

Nickel Brook Green Apple Pilsner has an unsurprisingly strong green apple aroma. It has a crisp and bitter taste with a hint of sweetness and an almost sour finish that gets balanced by hops. This slight hop finish is really the only trace of beer taste that I get from this pilsner. Thankfully the brewers have achieved a great taste balance between sweet and sour and the green apple flavour is not overbearing like in a cider or wine cooler.

Trafalgar Cherry Ale: Certainly Not a Lemon

Cherry Ale from Trafalgar Ales and Meads in Oakville, Ontario doesn’t actually taste like cherries. This cloudy, deep rust-coloured ale does however produce a fruity, flowery, almost wine-like aroma that blends appetizingly with the high quality hops when poured.

Trafalgar Cherry Ale
Trafalgar Cherry Ale does not Taste Like Cherries. This is a Selling Point.

This ale is constantly dry and bitter from start to finish, with a deep malt taste that really comes through in the finish. Trafalgar Cherry Ale does weigh a bit heavy on the palate, but does not leave an unpleasant or yeasty aftertaste.
